Triple Double was born in 2010 as a meeting point for all fans of the world of the basket in the Region of Murcia, and of the then Club Baloncesto Murcia, now UCAM Murcia CB. The promoters observed the need to support the club beyond the simple subscription, in a different way, spreading the sport of basketball to society. In this way, transforming the initial association, a group that loves basketball arises, and develops a sporting, diffusing, and professional activity around it.
The Palacio de Deportes de Murcia is the 'headquarters' of the collective, a place in which to enjoy the sporting spectacle while professional concerns are shared among the different members. From the season ticket holders, the friends of Triple Double have equally enjoyed long-suffering seasons and celebrated victories for the club. Currently joy is a regular companion thanks to the sporting successes of UCAM Murcia CB.
The group has grassroots and veteran basketball teams in the +30 and +40 category. The youth basketball team is called Beniaján Basket TRIPLEDOUBLE. The TRIPLEDOBLE +30 team has been champion in the 'leisure' category of the Murcian Basketball Federation. On the other hand, the TRIPLEDOBLE +40 team has been successful in competitions, such as the SMBT16 Santander Máster Básket 2016 tournament, where they obtained third place among European teams for people over 40 years of age. They have also participated in international tournaments, such as the tournament in Galway (Ireland) in November 2016, where they achieved a third place.
In June 2017, the +40 team attended the First Sestieri Veterans Tournament in Venice, which was held on June 30, July 1 and 2.
Located in two stands at the foot of the Palacio de Deportes track, its more than 150 members constitute an important nucleus of professionals, freelancers, educators, and businessmen who take advantage of the synergies created in the group. In a pleasant atmosphere and with a common bond, the passion for basketball, the Triple Double stands are a real business area where important foundations are laid for future professional relationships between members.
The Triple Double collective has developed numerous sports gatherings around a star guest since its inception. Lunches or dinners that have served to learn a little more about the sport of the basket, contribute to the dissemination of the sport, and strengthen ties between basketball professionals and other fields. Among the panelists invited by Triple Double we can highlight José Ángel Antelo, Pedro Rivero, Óscar González, Xavi Sánchez, or more recently, the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta.
